An enquiry from new customer Irvin GQ resulted in an investment by the historic company in two Rotary model component collectors from J&S Engineering to add further efficiency to their production factory set up.
It's been exciting to connect with such an innovative company, who design & manufacture parachutes & aerial delivery systems. Originally established in 1919, this world leading UK company, run a number of Star CNC lathes at their manufacturing site near Bridgend in Wales & they recently decided to invest in 2 new component collectors to enhance their production of critical parts.
Two RPH600's were installed at Irvine GQ, to collect finished parts from their Star SD-26 type E & SX-38 type A sliding head lathes.
Both machines for Irvine GQ are 6-bucket collectors but other bucket combinations are available on all sizes of RPH models depending on the set-up required for the components being machined. They enable the machine to run unmanned for lights out machining and to ensure the critical surface finishes of their components are maintained.
The unique oil drain-back feature of all component collectors is designed to enable the reclamation of this resource for immediate reuse back into the lathes - a fantastic way to save money & implement a sustainability initiative simultaneously.
All of the oil from the parts landing in the buckets drains to a central point where it is then piped back into the Star machines.
The manufacturer will reap the benefits of saving money from the reuse of oil and continuing their commitment to being environmentally responsible.
