Qualiturn came back to J&S Engineering for a swarf management solution after previously adding lubricant recycling systems from us to their new factory a few years ago.
On our advice, the large subcontractor has now invested in an iSwarf 50 briquetting machine from our trusted supplier Hocker Polytechnik.
This briquetting machine not only enables Qualiturn to reclaim their valuable coolant to reuse back in their machines, but also increases the recycling value of their swarf and reduces expenditure on swarf storage and disposal.
The standard iSwarf50 is designed to fit to one machine only. This machine has been adapted to provide a central point for processing swarf from any of the 4 machines running aluminium on Qualiturn’s shop floor. Swarf bins are brought to this unit to be emptied. Fitted with an extended hopper, this bespoke iSwarf 50 provides a 600 litre capacity for a full load of aluminium swarf. This enables the system to process up to 50 kilos of swarf per hour. The hopper is fitted with an extra stirrer to stop bridging and tunnelling of the swarf.
The coolant reclaimed from the pressed swarf is drained into an IBC to then be reintroduced back into Qualiturn’s machines.
